Explore Majorca by Zone
Majorca is a large island — each area has a completely different character. The west is lively and resort-heavy; the north has the best beaches; the east feels untouched; the south has Es Trenc. Here's how to choose.
West Majorca — CalviÃ
Magaluf · Santa Ponsa · Peguera
The most popular resort strip on the island. Home to Magaluf's legendary nightlife, excellent beaches, and the quieter family resorts of Santa Ponsa and Peguera. Something for everyone.
Best for: Nightlife, lively resorts, family beach holidays
South Majorca
El Arenal · S'Arenal · Colònia de Sant Jordi
The south has Platja de Palma (one of the island's longest beaches), the natural paradise of Es Trenc, and the charming port town of Colònia de Sant Jordi as a gateway to Cabrera island.
Best for: Long sandy beaches, Es Trenc nature beach, boat trips to Cabrera
East Majorca
Cala Millor · Porto Cristo · Cala d'Or
The east coast is where Majorca feels most unspoilt. Pine-fringed coves, clear turquoise water, and the famous Coves del Drac. Less developed than the west — a great choice for couples and nature lovers.
Best for: Hidden coves, caves, snorkelling, nature
North Majorca — Alcúdia & Pollença
Alcúdia · Pollença · Cap de Formentor
The north has Majorca's most beautiful beaches (Playa de Muro, 11km), two of its most charming medieval towns, and the spectacular Formentor peninsula. The favourite zone for discerning travellers.
Best for: Best beaches, historic towns, scenery, families
